Yelling back at characters who don't exit

Don't ya just wish you could sit the boy down and say

"look Lio, your trying too hard. You have to be more aloof. Watch the Pick Up Artist and take some notes."

Call Me

Bar ditching just got a lot easier

Maybe this happens to more women than men -- but sometimes women give their phone number to a guy they think is really cute. Next thing you know the guy is calling you every day to "hook up". I remember going out with an acquaintance of mine one evening where she gave her number to a guy who seemed really nice and not bar creepy. Ten minutes after we left the club the guy called her and said how much he missed her and couldn't wait to see her again. I've also given my number to a guy and learned the 'nice guy' mask he wore hid a real jerk. After that I started giving out my email address. This puts the guy through the preliminary test:

1) Can he spell or use Spell Check

2) Does he own a computer and or know how to use one

3) What is his email screen name. If it's bigdoggy@, he gets deleted

Some people still like the old fashioned tradition of giving a phone number and I guess I can't blame them too much. Hearing someone's voice is more personal. With disposable phone numbers (the company is called numbr), you can give someone a phone number that will actually reach you. If s/he turns out to be something you would rather not know -- no problem you can 'expire' the number.

The company that offers the disposable phone numbers support 23 US cities, block telemarketers and allows for parental controls. Which is a nice feature because the parent can expire the number at any time or set limitations. Inbound calls to your number will be forwarded to your phone and then to your second optional phone.

In addition it lets you embed a link to your website allowing your blog or website readers to reach you without knowing your real phone number. If you are unavailable on both phone numbers, the caller can record a voice-mail, which will be sent to you via your e-mail. You don't have to be on-line to get a numbr! In a bar and need one? Simply call: (415) 234-5678 and get a numbr!

I checked out the site still thinking doubtful thoughts. I mean… how much is this going to cost me? How long is the registration that I just know is going to ask me for all of my information and possibly a DNA test…

Here’s how it works

Click on Get your free number

You choose

  • When should we discontinue this numbr:
  • Tell us where should we send your calls
  • Don't accept calls from blocked Caller IDs - We will request your caller to call back with their caller ID enabled.
  • Don't accept calls from suspected telemarketers
  • Turn off call screening
  • Email my incoming call history - We will email you daily call history on your email address.
  • Do not disturb from 9PM to 8AM

Next

Congratulations! Your numbr has been activated.

For the next 1 Hour, calls received on 347 515 2036 x 503 will be sent to XXX XXX XXXX

If you get this within the hour give it a try - I won't pick up - but you'll have my phone number, for an hour at least.

Are You A Lazy Kitchen John?

One of the best ways to know if a guy is worth dating is by looking inside his refrigerator. John lived in an adorable Bay area cottage with hardwood floors in a just as adorable Bay area city just outside of San Francisco. Everything about him was adorable except his refrigerator. The first time I went to his apartment (during the summer) I asked if he had anything cold to drink. Being an adorable sort of man he nonchalantly told me he had some cold soda pops in the refrigerator.

I walked into his adorable petite kitchen that contained his charming rustic refrigerator and opened the door to a ghastly so very not adorable contents. I actually closed the refrigerator door and I remember thinking I must have been heat induced delusional for a moment there… I opened the refrigerator door again and was frozen in a Medusa like horrific sculpture as I stared at hundreds of dead ants inside his refrigerator and a trail of dead ants leading into his freezer.

In addition, there was one six pack of soda pop, a small pizza box, a few empty fast food bags and some plastic containers that could have only come from mom but have contained life forms that Cthulhu himself would have felt motherly pride for.

When a person places more importance on they’re $300 sunglasses instead of spending $50 for maid service, ya just gotta realize they’re priorities are a bit spoiled. Obviously, we didn’t date very long.

The reason this story reemerged to the front of my memory is because I saw a nifty new gadget that all kitchen lazy Johns (people) should have. The Double U Days Ago Digital Day Counter

Suction and magnetic style gadgets count the days of the container from the time you first placed it in the refrigerator. So, now instead of seeing a half opened jar of spaghetti sauce, you can now see the half opened jar of spaghetti sauce is 32 days old, thirty-two days later. It won’t tell you if the sauce has gone bad, but if you’re a lazy kitchen Jon, the ants will do that for you.

Romance At The Office

Haven’t we all heard that romance at the office is a bad thing? Well, a high profile South Korean bank has put new meaning into office romance. Hana Bank is sending a group of 29 to 33 year old single female employees on a blind date trip to North Korea. What is even better is that they will pay half the fare for the two-day trip weekend to a mountain resort.

"As our bank tries to help our employees balance their work and personal lives, we are putting more effort into improving their personal life," said Yang Jae-hyeok in charge of the bank's division offering life services for employees.

They’re hoping that the romance will make them happier at the office. The single women were matched up with South Korean men selected by a top matchmaking agency in the country. Two years ago Hana Bank set up what it calls a "full life service" plan for its employees. The service includes subsidizing employees who enroll with matchmaking services.

Now why can’t American corporations take notice and start offering some "full life service" to they’re employees? I can think of some very nifty Life Services that would be very successful here in the states.

Increase Sales By Increasing The Sex Drive

Match . com – It’s OK to look and if your sales numbers goes up, it’s OK to do more.

Bondage . com – Don’t get so tied up with your work, let someone else do it for you.

Drama classes - You already pretend to be a great guy, take some acting lessons and make the performance more authentic

Dance classes – Dancing around the truth? Learn Salsa!

Golf / Country Club Memberships – Donald trump didn’t make millions just sitting around

I say we learn from our competitors and make our American companies better by not only encouraging social interaction but by hooking up our single co workers. How about a new reality television show

Date My Co-Worker

Contestants are co-workers who either work too much and don’t have time to go on date or do not have time to find a date.

Co-workers who want to set up they’re single co-workers must either be married, have significant others or be single themselves. This way some triangle situations can form creating better episodes and controversy within the show… I can totally picture it.

Single girl feels bad for over worked male co worker

Sets him up for a make over and a date

He turns out to be a lot hotter after the make over and now the single co worker who set him up now wants him

But the now hottie guy knows he hot and wants to explore the field just to find out hat the show set him up with a bunch gold digging skanks

Will he go for the stereo typical Gold Digging Hollywood skanks?

or

The sweet, I just wanted to do a good deed co worker?

Equal dating mortification for all...

regardless of handicap or visibly disfigured.

AMSTERDAM, Jan 24 (Reuters Life!) - The Netherlands, the country that has pioneered reality shows like "Big Brother," is planning a new first -- a dating program for the visibly disfigured.

The broadcaster SBS 6 is seeking candidates for its "Love at Second Sight" show due to be launched on February 20.

"Do you have a visible serious handicap and are you looking for a partner?" says an appeal on its Web site.

"The program is a platform for people with such problems to share experiences and feelings in a positive way with the rest of the Netherlands and to show that they are absolutely not pitiful," the broadcaster said.

"The main aim of the program is to remove prejudice about these people, to create more acceptance and respect and, of course, to find the love of their lives."

But the majority of Dutch viewers are turned off by the show that was initially set to be called "Monster Love." A poll by the mass circulation De Telegraaf daily showed 85 percent do not like the idea, with only 9 percent in favor.
